Giving back to the Sport
Public speaking and presentations: - Welcoming address to VIP’s, including the Premier of BC and international sport delegates, at the 2005 Snowboard World Championships in Whistler.
- Presented a request for an increase in sport funding to the Minister of Sport in April 2004, which resulted in an increase of nearly $7 million in direct funding to 1400 carded national team athletes.
- Spoke on behalf of sport to the House of Commons Finance Committee in November 2003.
- Presented Canadian Snowboard Federation funding request to stakeholders, including Sport Canada and the Canadian Olympic Committee in June 2005, resulting in $1.5 million in additional funding to snowboarding.
